About The MudHut

I started Mud Hut ceramics in a little corner area of a recycling companies’ warehouse in 2003. I was taking ceramic classes at a local community center and became addicted fast. I started pouring the molds and before too long had accumulated well over 200 of them. Customers would come in and purchase pieces and spread the word for me of the Mud Hut’s existence.  Not long after the word spread I was able to get more space and had a retail beginning to take form. After 3 years of classes and a year in the warehouse it was time to move!! The current location is 1571 Florence. I’ve been here for two years. Our studio is more traditional offering Green ware and Bisque.  I’ve continued to purchase molds and have a total of nearly 20,000.  Our paint and glaze selection totals hundreds with fabulous colors and a variety of selection. We specialize in Deco Art and Gore products as well as sell molds as a distributor for IMD Molds. We often search for months to find the piece you are looking for if the mold is not in our system. Our specialty is rare and hard to find molds, as well as the most currently released pieces.
In the many years I independently took these classes I have learned many techniques, but there are a few out there that I do not know but quickly learn. I teach ceramics to all ages and groups. I have several 5 year olds and up that are extremely gifted and a 58 year old all are considered friends. All ages, all races, both genders, all Fun!  Many groups come in like; girl scouts, big brother/big sisters, Windsor gardens, and Heather gardens. At the Mud Hut you are more than just a customer, you are part of our family, Customer oriented and family owned we look forward to you walking in the door. Most times coffee is hot and tea water is brewing, even a goodie now and then. If you’re close, stop; by if you’re not, it’s worth the drive!
